Technique and drill sessions are a personalized service offered by mywaterworld.life and are now available to all members of masters swimming clubs.
Commencing Monday 29 December, the availability of sessions has also been extended. All sessions are conducted at the Doone Kennedy Aquatic Centre.
Session availability
| Monday to Friday | Maximum of two participants | 45 minute session commencing 8:00am |
| Monday to Sunday | Individual | Commencement time by negotiation 45 minute session during non-peak hours |
| Monday to Sunday | Group – maximum of four | Commencement time by negotiation 60 minute session during non-peak hours (you need to organize the group) |
Spots are allocated based on your preference but on a first come first serve basis and subject to availability.
A session can be booked by sending an email, and including your mobile number and details of any injuries you may have (this is very important).
During the session the technique of your nominated stroke will be analyzed and an individually tailored technique and stroke improvement session will be developed based on your particular needs.
Fins are required for the sessions – the drills will be too hard to perform without them. Why fins? They take the load off your shoulders and you don ‘t have to kick as hard to maintain the momentum required to perform the drill. It is then much easier to focus on the particular aspect of your stroke that is being modified.
Within 48 hours of the end of your session you will receive by email a summary of the aspects of your stroke that you will need to concentrate on till your next session. It is important that you practice the drills and implement the stroke enhancements developed during your Technique and Drill session.
This service is only available to members of masters swimming clubs who are required to commit to compete at masters competitions. The only way of taking advantage of this offer is to request a session by email. There is no charge for a session – the only cost involved is the entry fee to the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre.
